ABUJA-AT last copies of the 2016 Budget arrived the National Assembly Complex yesterday after the controversy over the status of the 2016 budget had mellowed down. A mini commercial bus marked BENUE XA374GTJ which brought the copies probably from an unknown commercial Printing Press arrived the Complex around 11 00am unnoticed.

Court remands man in prison for alleged rape of minor

A Minna Magistrates' Court on Tuesday remanded one Yahaya Garba, 27, in prison custody for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl. Garba was arraigned on a one-count charge of rape, contrary to Section 283 of the Penal Code. The Prosecutor, Cpl. John Steven, told the court that Alhassan Shaibu of Limawa Gwada reported the matter at the Gwada Station on Nov. 21, 2015?.

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday said it would not succumb to the attempt by the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to blackmail it into paying a questionable N224 million debt. While reacting to a purported protest carried out by members of the association, the State Government said though it was not against peaceful protest by aggrieved citizens, it would not, however, be stampeded into taking any action without strictly following due process and rule of law.
