Babangida Aliyu of Niger Lapai-gov on Saturday urged major General Abdulsalami Abubakar to prevail on past leaders of the country to help curb insurgency rocking the northern region.
Doktor, the question that the President, the Northern States Governor Forum (NSGF), is created on the first summons of the Ibrahim Babangida Badamosi University, Lapai, Niger.
He expressed the hope that the security challenges in the Northern States in the next three months could be overcome.
Abbas insisted that with the joint efforts of prominent Nigerians, the unbearable situation in the North would soon be a thing of the past.
"I call on major General Abdulsalami Abubakar Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, Alhaji invite Shehu Shagari, Babangida, Gen. Ibarahim get together and help the north side the plague of Boko Haram in the next three months."
The Governor also called on University students to imbibe the best moral practice, say academics not only about learning, but also about moral and character were.
"As young people, you have to play central role in coping with the situation as positive change agents by advocating peace, unity and peaceful coexistence devoid of ethnic and religious feelings in the society. ''
The Governor, who is also the visitor to the University, urged tertiary institutions in the country to limit students ' instructions not only academics.
The President of the University endowment fund, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, announced that the Fund was yielding results.
Abubakar said that money collected so far was already carried out in hundreds of millions of Naira, saying that it was held in a dedicated account awaiting judicious use to develop the institution.
Previously, said the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Kolo, that had been issued over N19 billion in college.
Kolo also praised the contribution to the TETFund and interventions of NIMASA whose University could not be over emphasized.
1,732 students, consisting of four sets from 2010 to 2014 will receive their degrees in her maiden convocation.
A breakdown revealed that eight had first-class, 324, second class upper; 902, second class lower; 476, third class; and 22 passes. (NAN)
