Jos bombing: Jang orders local security policy outfit take-off

Pleads with residents courage to defeating terrorists

JOS — Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, yesterday, asked the people of the State not to be intimidated by the wave of bomb attacks being launched by terrorists in the State but courageous and hopeful for an abrupt end of the insurgents.
Jang, who spoke at a special non-denominational service in the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, Jos, said that the State would overcome the atrocities of the rebels if the people put their trust in God.
The Governor was responding to leave Saturday night's bombing incident in which a suicide bomber blew himself along with two other people in a failed attempt at a public display Centre in the city, while the final of the UEFA bombing was going on.

While the appeal to the people to be more safety-conscious, said Governor Jang that he believed the latest bomb was locally made in the area that it went.
To provide additional support to other security services in the State in the fight against terrorism, the Governor announced the immediate take-off of a local security policy outfit to be known as ' Neighborhood Watch ' in the State.
Although the details of the new outfit were not given, is expected to work closely with the Joint Task Force, JTF, information gathering and sharing between the agencies and the local population in the fight against terrorism.
The Governor, however, renewed his call on the natives to be more vigilant and to report suspicious movements and elements as soon as possible law enforcement torments for appropriate action.
On Saturday night a suicide bomber blew himself and two others in a failed attempt to kill football lovers, which on the capital of the State to watch the final of the European Football League, UEFA had converged.
The bomber, it was learned, was killed when the bomb he had before he could reach his goal went off primer.
Special Advisor to Governor Jonah Jang on Media, Pam Ayuba, told Vanguard that the church service the only event organized by the Governor was following this years of democracy day in accordance with the vote in the nation.
