The Sokoto State government yesterday disbursed N200 million interest-free loans to 2,300 primary schools headmasters and teachers in the state.
Speaking at the flag -off of the disbursement, Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko said the gesture was to motivate the teachers to work harder In line with his administration's desire to ensure qualitative education.
He said Education Officers and Supervisors would be given N106, 000 each, head teachers N80, 000 each and teachers N50, 000 each.
He said it is a revolving scheme and beneficiaries are expected to repay within 10 months for their colleagues to benefit from the scheme.
