Soldiers conduct house-to-house search in Kaduna

Soldiers yesterday stormed Asikolaye, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis, conducting house-to-house search, thereby throwing residents of the area into confusion.
Weekly Trust gathered that heavily armed soldiers stormed the area around 7am and stationed about four vehicles along ring road by Jimeta street while they asked residents to remain indoors as they carried out the search.
One resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity said: "I was at home when I heard the soldiers asking us to remain indoors. I cannot tell precisely what or who they were looking for but they moved from one house to the other conducting search."
The resident added that the search lasted for over an hour after which the soldiers left the area.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson of 1Mechanized Division, Colonel Usman Abdul, for confirmation on the house-to-house search failed.‎
